The High Lonesome Ranch Hosts Renowned Chef Grady Spears (The Cowboy Cook) To Kick Off Its Western Chef Series

Western Slope Colorado - Billed as being “exactly as wild as you want it to be,” Colorado’s The High Lonesome Ranch hosts renowned chef Grady Spears (The Cowboy Cook) to share his gourmet Western cuisine Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24, 2008. Participants will delight in Chef Spears’ signature gourmet Western style, complimentary fine wines, live music, fly-fishing, barn dancing, “turkey shoot” competition, fire pit under the stars, and much more.
The Western Chef Series kicks off with guest chef Grady Spears, the renowned Cowboy Cook, and is hosted by The High Lonesome’s Executive Chef Doug Atkinson. Chef Atkinson and the ranch are hosting this first-ever event for a limited 28 guests. The event will include three nights’ accommodations, bountiful gourmet meals inspired by indigenous and regional ingredients, fine wines, adventures and numerous other activities that guests might want to experience in this scenic part of the country.
Fire-pit cooking, dancing under the stars, horseback riding and fly-fishing are all in the plan. The Ranch’s five-stand sporting clays course is always popular with guests. Additionally, a light-hearted competition with prizes for all levels of skill is planned at the clays course. A champagne brunch and massages will be offered. Guests can participate in all the activities or choose to simply sit around the fireplace in the main lodge, relax, eat, drink wine, and enjoy the surroundings and the abundant wildlife.
The High Lonesome Ranch, a food lovers’ escape, has always offered guests three country gourmet meals a day to complement its many outdoor adventures. Now it combines those with a special guest chef in a long weekend to create a distinctive experience customized to delight the food lover and outdoors lover as well.
